The objective of the programme is to provide an opportunity to enhance their
knowledge and skills continually.
Eligibility
The candidate must hold a Bachelors Degree of any of the Universities
incorporated by an Act of the central or state legislature in India or other
educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be
deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an
equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of
India. The Bachelors Degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the
candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing
higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent.
Graduates must have a minimum of 5 years and upto 15 years of
managerial / entrepreneurial / professional experience as on August 31, 2006.
Work experience obtained only after graduation will be considered.
Organisational sponsorship is desirable.
Curriculum and Pedagogy
The first four terms have compulsory courses. During these four terms, the
participants are offered the foundational courses such as behavioral sciences,
economics, information technology, and quantitative techniques in the context
of their relevance to the study of management subjects. Courses will also be
offered in the basic functional areas such as finance and accounting,
marketing, human resource management, operations management and information
systems. The fifth term has both compulsory and elective courses and the sixth
term has only electives. In fifth and the sixth terms, the participants can
choose the electives from a wide range of electives offered by the Institute,
which will enable them to get a deeper knowledge in their areas of special
interest.
The pedagogy would be a judicious mix of lectures, case
discussions, project work, term papers, role-play, seminar presentations,
assignments, films, management games, and topics of independent study.
